Amarone Case Vecie borrows its name from the homonymous 10ha-vineyard located in Grezzana - Valpantena. It is a unique vineyard, 450mt above sea level, with a perfect south/easterly exposition. These particular pedoclimatic conditions allow the grapes to undergo a slow and constant ripening even during the hardest years. The grapes are selected in the vineyard and placed in crates. They are then left to dry in the fruit drying loft for several months. The wine is left in contact with the grape skins during fermentation.Aging is in barriques for: 2 years in 25hL slavonian oak barrels.
Tasting Notes & Reviews
"Dark raspberry jam and creme de cassis with dried orange peel and preserved plums. There is a hint of fine musk on the palate that marries with the black plums and a bittersweet accent. The tannin is silky and smooth, but still assertive. Very long and nuanced. Amarone warmth here, but really well-poised. Sustainable. Drink or hold." 94/100, James Suckling, Aug'2022
"Deep ruby. Very ripe, almost roasted nose of dried cranberry, kirsch, brown spices, figs macerated in sugar syrup and botanical herbs. Then fresher and suave, with clean and precise flavous of cinnamon, pepper, tobacco and pot pourri. Finishes long with young, chewy but polished tannins." (From the winery)
