Our single minded goal when we started our wine delivery 7 years ago was to be the most trusted wine supplier in Singapore who can bring to our customers, truly great wines from the most acclaimed regions at the best prices. A wine list that you can trust blindly for quality and its price. 7 yrs hence it continues to be the same.
For some wine categories our wine delivery service almost redefined the local pricing over the last 7 years.
Over the years, we have brought some of the most iconic jewels from 1st growth in Bordeaux to icons from small memorable estates from Italy; and assembled a portfolio that you can run through for choice to taste the multitude of wine making styles and wine types, without pulling out your phone and looking up a producer or a vintage for validation on the google or wine searcher.
Our prices continue to rival a wholesaler’s not just locally but for many wines internationally, without forcing you to buy it in bulk like one.
Like many other great wine merchants here and elsewhere, while we would never sell to our customers what we ourselves won’t drink, we also recognize that palates and preferences differ and just because we like something doesn’t mean our customers should as well.
Thus, the wines that finally make it through our selection are not just great because we think so, these are the wines from the producers well loved by critics and tasters and wine writers and sommeliers alike; come from good to great vintages, from producers that go to great length to let the terroir shine through, and have been tendered with as much love and affection by the wine producer as a caring parent would a child; not to mention they carry the wine scores (if you still care about them) for added comfort from the wine critics that we trust.

Why come to Wine Monk
We run our business on wafer thin margins because we just do not believe we or our customers deserve to pay a massive premium for quality wines. While customers favour our convenient wine delivery service because of our competitive pricing, we do recognize sometimes people just want variety. The range of palates and choices that the diverse multi-racial, multi ethnic cosmopolitan population of Singapore possess are quite remarkable. Why it is largely still French and Italian wines?
When we started 7 years ago, we wanted to focus our wine delivery mainly on French and Italian, This was because there was just way too much variety and quality to learn and bring from these two oldest wine regions and we had limited bandwidth. Over the years as the opportunities presented, we tried and loved and learned a number of other great bottlings from new and old wine regions from Australia, South Africa, Chile and Argentina, it was clear to us that some of these names deserve places in the highest echelons of the wine world. Unfortunately, where we are located (Singapore), we haven't been successful in finding a forwarder who offers temperature controlled container service to bring the wines here (except Australia). And we refuse to bring them otherwise. Just the thought of wines roasting at sea for 3 weeks in dry containers makes me nervous. We still follow the principle that at Wine Monk, we would never sell something that we didn’t know or couldn’t explain or justify being in the portfolio. As we set out about learning about these region to ensure we could carry on the mission, we must admit, a bit coyly, we fell in love at first sight. 7 years hence, we are still smitten and fall head over heels every time we find a new historical loved estate in Italy. It's been a few years now but I hope it isn't long before we have options to bring wines from these other regions from an end to end cold chain without burning out our entire bank balance for you and for us. However, aside of our passionate love story with the French and Italian terroir, we do have significant reach in sourcing the right bottle irrespective of the wine growing region.
