"The polish and fine texture to this 2014 is impressive with blueberry, dark chocolate and light walnut aromas and flavors. Medium body, integrated tannins and a long, refined finish. Serious sense for the vintage. Better in 2017." 95/100 Jamessuckling.com, July 2016
"Petrolo’s 2014 Galatrona is impressive. Medium in body, with striking aromatic presence and depth, the 2014 is all class. Exotic spice, rose petal, mint and red plum give the 2014 its air of cool sophistication. A bit rough around the edges, the 2014 could use a bit of time in bottle to allow the tannins to soften a touch. This is a very strong showing from Petrolo." 93+, Antonio Galloni, Jan 2018
Single vineyard Merlot, fermented in concrete and aged 22 months in oak (20% new). Deep cherry red. Intense dark fruit overwhelms the oak. Dark and savoury. More oak sweetness and spice on the palate, firm but rounded tannnins. Elegant in an oaked style and long. Concentrated but not at all heavy. Dry, chewy length. Needs more time. 17+/20 Julia Harding, Sept 2016.
